We are searching for passionate and caring volunteers to join our Community Cuppa at The William and Patricia Venton Centre, Astor Drive, Mount Gould, Plymouth.

Volunteering can make a difference to you, a huge difference to our clients and Age UK Plymouth.

The Role

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to assist to assist with raising awareness of the charity and support with our fundraising events and activities in Plymouth.

Types of work required include: assisting with organising events, responding to enquiries about events, researching and sourcing items for events, helping on event days and distribution of fundraising materials. You will be involved with activities, such as; Plymouth’s Running Festival, our own Step Out challenge, campaigns and more.

Ambassadors will also; promote Age UK Plymouth, who it supports and how it promotes choice, opportunity and independence in those aged 50+, those living with dementia and carers across the city. This can be to local groups, schools and the public. You will be signposting our services and making a difference to vulnerable people in our community.

Our ideal volunteer will be polite, reliable and have a friendly manner, be confident in talking to local groups and members of the public, have excellent communication and administration skills, be approachable, organised, have a happy to help attitude, enthusiastic, enjoy meeting people, and have a real passion about Age UK Plymouth and the work we do. We will supply you with all the information to help you excel and succeed.

Meet our Volunteers!

Jane is 78 and volunteers at the Dementia Day Centre in Plymstock one day a week. After retiring from retail, Jane has now been volunteering with Age UK Plymouth for an incredible 17 years.

We provide full training which includes; safeguarding, dementia awareness training and digital training.

Please note that a DBS Certificate and suitable references are a requirement of this role but we will guide you through these processes.
