This service offers a vital lifeline to older people who would otherwise feel alone and socially isolated. Our trained and vetted Community Befriender volunteers could provide support through home visits, telephone befriending, out & about, and community hubs.
Telephone befriending & Client homes (1:1 Befriending)
Telephone companionship from a volunteer or home visits for companionship and perhaps a cup of tea whilst playing scrabble or doing something else together – the service is offered 7 days a week at times convenient to clients.
Out & About
A volunteer to encourage and motivate people to get out in the community, accompanying on short walks, out for a coffee or perhaps some light shopping until the person feels confident to go on their own.
Monthly Walking group
An opportunity to socialise, make friends and get out in the community.
