Community Engagement Lead
Location: Plymouth
Rate of Pay: £32,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Contract: The contract is fixed term to cover the remaining 2 years of the project, ending April 2027.
About the Role
The Plymouth Cancer Champions Project is a 3-year project, funded by Macmillan Cancer Support. The project is hosted by Zebra Collective in close collaboration with Age UK Plymouth and the Wolseley Trust Social Prescribing team.
The project will explore community-based approaches to supporting people whose cancer outcomes and experiences are known to be the worst because of the unacceptable barriers they face (such as those living in low-income areas, being over 65 or living in a minoritised community etc).
We are seeking to recruit a Community Engagement Lead, who will work with older people, and be employed by Age UK Plymouth.
A post of this nature is subject to an enhanced Disclosure Check through the Disclosure and Barring Service.
About You
The ideal candidate will need to have an asset-based approach, be comfortable engaging with people, and have strong partnership working skills.
