Our Season Of Support

This Christmas, we have been overwhelmed by the generosity and support from our local Plymouth community and businesses, who helped us make this season special for older people across the city.
A huge thank you goes to Sky, Associated British Ports, NatWest and Babcock, helping us deliver hot meals and food parcels to those who need it most. Their support ensured that many older people who might otherwise feel forgotten received not only a delicious meal but also a reminder they are cherished members of our community.
We are also deeply grateful to Dunelm and their customers for their generosity in providing thoughtful Christmas gifts to our clients, bringing so many smiles to their faces. This made our clients feel truly cared for, adding a special touch to their Christmas celebrations. Thanks to Devonport High School For Girls and Plymstock School for their generous donations of food and essentials, which were delivered along with our hot meals.
Finally, we are sincerely grateful to Waitrose, Mark Holt & Co and Devonport Royal Dockyard Sports and Social Club for their significant donations towards our Christmas Campaign.
This season of support has been a true testament to the kindness and compassion of Plymouth’s businesses and residents. Thanks to their thoughtful donations and efforts, we have been able to continue our mission of supporting older people and those living with dementia, ensuring they feel valued and connected during a time of year that can be especially challenging.
“From all of us at Age UK Plymouth, thank you for standing with us and making this Christmas season brighter for so many. Together, we’ve shown the power of our community and the difference it can make.”
Tara Dale, Head of Fundraising
“At SDS, we are passionate about creating lasting social value and supporting Plymouth’s journey to becoming a truly age-friendly city. Our partnership with Age UK Plymouth reflects our commitment to fostering inclusion and connection across generations. Over the past year, we’ve been proud to contribute in meaningful ways, from gifting sustainable house plants in ocean waste pots during Carers Week, to spreading festive cheer with our annual Christmas food hampers for vulnerable adults.
One of the highlights of this partnership was celebrating Silver Sunday, where we funded a special screening at Plymouth Arts Cinema and sponsored free visits to the National Marine Aquarium, giving service users the chance to connect, explore, and enjoy unique experiences.
These events build on our shared vision of creating vibrant opportunities for all ages and strengthen our ongoing collaboration with multiple organisations across the city.
We’re proud to stand alongside Age UK Plymouth in making a real difference. Together, we are building a stronger, more inclusive Plymouth, and we look forward to continuing this journey of connection and support.”
