50 miles your way, this May!

A brand new event has been added to the Step Out for Age UK Plymouth collection, a range of accessible, fundraising events to get involved in.
To celebrate National Walking Month fundraisers will be walking, jogging and running their way around Plymouth. Designed to be flexible and adaptable, 50 Miles in May is the perfect challenge to get you on your feet, feeling the benefits of walking for physical health and mental well-being, and raising money for the community.
Fundraisers are invited to raise £50 to support over 50s by covering 50 miles throughout May and the charity has plenty of suggestions to get you on your way. “It’s really important for us to design inclusive fundraising challenges that can be accessible for anyone to join in,” explains Tara Dale, Head of Fundraising. “The beauty of this month long event is the opportunity for each fundraiser to tailor their own challenge. It might look like a back to back marathon weekend or you could sponsor the kids to walk the dog 1.6 miles a day. It’s about doing it your way.”
Can you raise £50 to help us be there for over 50s?
Every penny raised stays in the city of Plymouth supporting over 50s, those living with dementia and their carers.
All funds raised are used in line with the charity’s fundraising pledge: “Here at Age UK Plymouth we rely on donations and fundraisers to help us to continue to provide vital services to our community. When you donate you can count on every penny staying in Plymouth supporting over 50s, those living with dementia and their carers.”
Anyone interested in getting involved can read up more about the challenge at www.ageuk.org.uk/plymouth or call the charity on 01752 256020.
