Remember Together group sessions

Age UK Leeds is encouraging older people living with dementia to join one of our new groups to help provide support and improve their wellbeing through a range of activities.

Our Remember Together group sessions are designed for people aged 50 and over with mild to moderate dementia or memory problems and involve a range of fun and interactive activities such as games, music, art, cooking and exercise classes. As well as helping with memory and mental activity, such as thoughts, emotions and behaviour, the sessions also give older people the chance to meet and socialise with people who are also living with dementia.

The sessions are also known as Maintenance Cognitive Stimulation Therapy or MCST. This is the only non-drug treatment recommended to improve memory and thought processes, independence and well-being by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE).

Where and when

Our Remember Together groups take place every Wednesday morning at the Young Dementia Leeds Hub (Cottingley, Beeston) and every Thursday afternoon at Firthfields Community Centre (Garforth).

**Please note our Garforth group is currently full but we are operating a waiting list and will try to fit new people in as soon as spaces become available**

We are hoping to run a group in Seacroft but the start date is still to be confirmed, we are hoping to hold this group every Tuesday morning at the Recovery Hub East (Seacroft).

To sign up, make a referral or find out more, please contact 0113 389 3000 or email mcst@ageukleeds.org.ukPlease make sure you sign up before trying to attend a group.
