Arch Cafe re-opens

As you will know all cafes had to close back in March and it was a sad day for us as we locked the doors for the duration of lock-down. However, we are delighted to let you know that we opened our doors to the public again on Monday 3 August – especially important to us as the profits from the Arch Cafe are donated to Age UK Leeds to help them continue their work.
A lot of work went on before re-opening – we’ve shared just a few of those actions below so you can see we are working hard to keep our customers and staff safe:
- Cafe and kitchen have had a professional deep clean
- PPE for staff
- Tables 2m apart
- Extra tables outside in the tranquil gardens overlooking St John’s Church
- Table service so no queueing at the counter where social distancing is difficult
- Hand sanitiser stations installed
- Disposable menus – discarded after every use
- No shared condiments – single use sachets only
- Encouraging customers to pay by card where possible
We are open Monday to Friday 10am-2pm and are situated just to the side of St John’s Shopping Centre and Sainsbury’s on Dortmund Square.
Whilst things may look a little different with some of these measures in place, there is one thing that you can be sure of – a very warm welcome, not to mention delicious fresh homemade food – we are regularly told we bake the best scones in Leeds so why not come and check them out?
