Walking Football Support Volunteer
Walking Football is designed for individuals aged 50+ who want to continue playing football but are limited by mobility or other factors. This sport uses different rules and emphasises health, wellness, and inclusivity.
As a Walking Football volunteer and referee, you’ll support the weekly Walking Football sessions by providing guidance, organisation, and refereeing. You’ll play a key role in fostering a welcoming and active environment for all participants.
Main Duties:
- Support attendees by refereeing sessions
- Assist with the organisation of the group, including maintaining registers
- Promote the health and wellness benefits of walking football
- Act as a point of contact at sessions
- Organise and manage equipment for sessions
- Ensure proper completion of health/photo consent and new starter forms
- Ensure health and safety protocols are followed
- Raise any wellbeing concerns or other issues with staff members
Training & supervision:
- Full training and support will be provided, including an induction and health and safety training
- A DBS check will be provided
- Ongoing support from the team, including regular check-ins
