Finance Trustee To Treasurer
Age UK Enfield is a well-respected Charity and has garnered an excellent reputation for the support and services we provide to older people in the Borough.
We have a strong and committed staff and volunteer team who deliver our broad range of services (care, advice, exercise, enabling) reaching around 7,000 older people each year.
We are a forward-looking Charity, constantly evolving to respond to the needs of our clients. Significant progress has been made recently in improving our internal systems, processes and ways of working. We are focused on developing our existing services and our operating model. We are planning to embark on our next phase of development, which will require a move to new premises. This is a significant transformation programme and an exciting time for the Charity.
The Trustees acting individually and collectively have an overall stewardship responsibility for the well-being of Age UK Enfield, providing strategic direction, ensuring that it works effectively towards its vision and mission, harnessing its resources to maximum effect and upholding its core ethos and values and fulfilling a duty of care, in accordance with its governing documents, relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
We are seeking a senior financial person to join the Board with the view to becoming the Treasurer at a later date.
Prospective candidates will need to:
- Have time to dedicate to this role;
- Have empathy with the charitable objectives of the organisation;
- Have the ability, commitment and drive to work with the Board in taking the organisation forward.
The Board meets four times a year – currently early evening and usually on-line although there will be the occasional face-to-face to meeting.
Additionally, the Board meets for a day or two half days a year to discuss and prepare plans for the Charity’s future but could also include governance, the management and delivery review of services.
We are especially interested in hearing from candidates whose backgrounds reflect the diverse population in Enfield.
Previous experience of working or volunteering in the third sector would be a bonus but not essential.
