District wide and Remote Working as appropriate

Age UK Bradford District’s mission is to enable, empower and support people to live well as active, engaged and influential members of their communities. We work to ensure that everyone’s contribution is valued and that individuals and their communities provide mutual support which promotes independence, inclusion, choice and control.

The Fundraising Assistant is a key role, which will focus on generating income in a range of ways to support our work with older people in Bradford District.

The areas of work will include developing new fundraising opportunities; engaging with our supporters and donors; creating new partnerships and connections; planning activities and events and supporting the wider team with hub based fundraising initiatives.

A background in fundraising, events or community engagement would be desirable but the most important part of this role will be your ability to inspire and communicate with people who engage with Age UK Bradford District whilst developing new partnerships and connections. Every conversation you have could lead to additional income for our work and an approach that is caring, tenacious and forward-thinking is vital. You will be a self starter with strong administration skills and enjoy the challenges that will be a part of the role.

We will give you the support needed to be successful whilst also ensuring that you have every opportunity to be independent in your role. We encourage our people to use their creativity to achieve success and we help every step of the way.

The postholder will aim to raise agreed target income for the charity and will be required to accurately identify, plan, record, monitor, analyse and evaluate the progress of fundraising activity.

The postholder will be responsible for ensuring that all fundraising activity is cost effective and compliant with legal requirements and will also be required to represent the organisation at internal and external events.

A full driving licence is desirable, together with business use insurance and access to a car, as occasional travel throughout the District is required for this role. This role is based district wide with half the time spent in our Shipley Community Hub and the opportunity to work at home, as appropriate.

Salary £21,090 per annum pro rata, actual salary £15,960

28 hours per week to be worked over 4 days. However, due to the nature of the role, we require the postholder to have a flexible approach to days and hours of work.
