New Places Available - Age UK York's Social Clubs

Please get in touch to join the fun at one of our local Social Clubs

As a local and independent charity here in York, Age UK York are delighted to be able to open up more places at our popular Social Clubs at venues across York for the start of 2025.

For over 30 years Age UK York’s friendly and caring team have run this important service for local residents to attend and enjoy. The Social Clubs are a great place to meet other people aged 55 and over and are tailored to the interests of those attending with every member a valued part of the group.

We offer a range of activities including quizzes, crafts, games, chair exercises, visiting speakers, entertainers and more. Those in our groups enjoy time with others and refreshments too.

We have places now available at our following weekly Social Clubs:

  • Tuesday in Acomb (AM)
  • Wednesday in Tang Hall (AM) and Heworth (PM)

Transport can also be available to and from the Clubs.

Social Clubs run in the morning between 09.45 – 12.00 and from 1.30 pm – 4pm during the afternoon. Each place is just £10.

Thank you for your continued support to our new Social Clubs

Following the end of funding last year, our charity has been so fortunate as to be supported to be able to re-introduce our Social Clubs and provide a much loved and important local offer for older residents to enjoy. The generosity of people is vital from donating or using our local charity shops to help us raise funds to kindly volunteering with us. The collective effort of all involved has helped us again run weekly Social Clubs and be able to grow to open up more places to people to join. We aim to continue to grow to meet need.

Our Social Clubs are an important part of our local charity's continuing efforts to help tackle loneliness and social isolation here in the City and we know thanks to those using our Clubs just how important they are for them.
