Join the Board of Trustees for Age UK Worcester, Malvern Hills & Hereford Localities
Age UK Worcester, Malvern Hills & Hereford Localities is an independent local charity, dedicated to improving the lives of older people. We work to help people remain independent and comfortable for as long as possible in their own homes and communities. The charity delivers a number of key services including Information & Advice, footcare clinics, help and companionship at home, and dementia support; as detailed in our services.
Trustees
Trustees are responsible for the good governance and financial management of the charity, and for ensuring that it’s core purpose of helping older people is carried out. You can see a general description of the role of charitable trustee here.
We are looking for committed individuals to expand and consolidate the range of skills on our Trustee Board. We require enthusiastic and motivated people, who are sympathetic to the aims and objectives of our charity to fulfil these voluntary duties.
Whilst an interest in supporting older people is necessary, there is no need to have trustee experience to apply. Induction, peer support and training for the role will be given as needed.
Skills in health and social care (including mental health), organisation management, financial management; including fundraising, and legal work are all areas that support Board activity. Experience of promoting inclusive activities or social programmes across generations and communities would be helpful. Additionally, insights into using our services would bring a helpful perspective to the Board.
Please note this is a voluntary role. Reasonable expenses will be paid.
How to apply
If you would like to use your skills and experience at Board level to help us help older people, we very much look forward to hearing from you.
Please send a short CV and covering letter outlining your interest in the role and the skills you would bring to our work to one of our co-Chairs of Trustees:
- Hazel Sherwood (hazelsherwood@ageukwmh.org)
- Collette Clifford (collette@ageukwmh.org).
