Volunteer for us
Could you spare just a couple of hours a week to visit or call a lonely older person? Make a difference and help us fight social isolation and loneliness in Worcester & Malvern Hills by volunteering.
How we are combatting loneliness
-
Befriending service
Befriending is available for older people who live alone, have no family living locally or feel socially isolated and lack social contact. The service will provide regular companionship to older people who best need it
-
Bereavement service
Coping with the loss of a loved one is one of the hardest things we ever have to deal with. That is why we are offering friendship and support to those who are experiencing loss, as an extension to our established Befriending Service.
-
Worcestershire Community Dementia Support
Living with dementia can bring many challenges, including feelings of loneliness and isolation. Our Community Support Service is here to help you stay connected, and to help you continue doing the things you enjoy.
-
Bereavement service
Meet with others at one of our 4 centres, who like you, are adapting to changes brought about by living with dementia. We welcome anyone who has a suspected or confirmed diagnosis for dementia. There is no need for a confirmed diagnosis though, everyone is welcome.
-
Social activities
We run regular social activities and events in the Worcester & Malvern Hills areas, with the aim of abolishing social isolation. Join us for our Connect Clubs, Enjoy Dancing classes, Men's Shed and day trips.
-
Good Neighbour Networks
Residents help their neighbours in all sorts of ways including friendly phone calls, delivering essential items and giving lifts to appointments. These small acts of kindness have already made a huge difference to their neighbours lives.
