About us
Age UK Wolverhampton, formerly Age Concern Wolverhampton, is a charity that aims to promote the wellbeing of all older people in the City and help to make later life a fulfilling and enjoyable experience.
How we help
Age UK Wolverhampton shares the vision of Age UK, of a world in which older people can flourish. We support all people over the age of 50, both active and frail, irrespective of race, ethnic origin, gender or religion living within the City of Wolverhampton.
General information and advice is available by calling 01902 572 060. We are happy to provide a range of factsheets, booklets and leaflets giving advice on specific subjects, and can point you in the right direction to get the help that you need.
Staff and volunteers can deal with your enquiries and individual appointments can be made to consider any specialised information you may require.
Some of our work is funded through specific contracts with other organisations but we rely heavily on grants from Trusts and fundraising. Most important to the work of the Charity is the involvement and very hard work of our team of volunteers, without whom many of our services simply would not exist.
How you can help us
There are also many more traditional services we offer that depend on Age UK Wolverhampton generating its own income, and it is here that we rely upon our own supporters among the general public.

Our objectives
Our Board of Trustees develop our strategic objectives. There are some 80,000 people aged over 50 in Wolverhampton, and we will focus on helping them maintain their independence, reducing their risk of isolation, supporting them through events which have a major adverse change in life and overcoming restrictions to accessing services and products.
Our strategic objectives for the future with regards to the people of Wolverhampton are:
- We will provide support to older people to reduce their risk of isolation and loneliness
- We will enable older people to achieve and maintain their independence
- We will enable older people to know and assert their rights and have access to quality services and products
- We will enable older people to have a voice that is heard
- We will reduce the negative impact of life-changing events on the lives of older people
