Trip to Sudley House
The Joining Forces Reminiscence Group took a trip to Sudley House in Aigburth. It was built in 1824 and contains the collections of former resident George Holt.
The museum and art gallery is famous for it's paintings by Turner, Rossetti and Holman Hunt.. It is one of the few period homes decorated in a Victorian style that still has many of its original features. It is also the only surviving Victorian merchant art collection in Britain still hanging in its original location.
The group were shown around the beautiful building by a guide who spoke about the setting, the art collection, and the antiques. As always there was an onsite café, which had to be sampled before the group made their way back to Meadowcroft.
