Growing Memories

Published on 10 July 2019 12:23 PM

We visited Co-op Academy Woodslee to talk to the pupils, teachers and PTA. The whole school participated in the Dementia Awareness session and will register as the first Dementia Aware school with the Alzheimer’s Dementia Friends Programme.

We visited Woodslee Primary SchoolGrowing Memories

This training comes ahead of Growing Memories, a great intergenerational project that will be running over the summer.. This is a gardening club for students and their families to work on creating window boxes and flower pots with and for our residents at Stanhope Court.

The project aims to give our residents the chance to mix with younger generations, create something that they can see in the garden, and ensure that people living in the community are more aware of dementia and know that Stanhope Court exists.

A big thanks to our youngest trainers, Grace and Eric who created and delivered a presentation on their understanding of dementia, which really helped the children to engage with the topic.
