1. Chief Executive Officer

We are seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking leader who is passionate about improving the lives of people over 50.  You don't need to have worked within Age UK before, but you must have the expertise to drive growth and sustainability.

As Chief Executive Officer, you will set the strategic direction for the charity, ensuring financial sustainablity while enhancing and expanding our services.  Working closely with the Board of Trustees, staff, volunteers and stakeholders, you will lead on income generation, digital engagement and partnerships to secure a thriving future for Age UK Wigan Borough.

£55,000 to £65,000 per annum, depending on expertise.

Full time, 37 hours a week (Monday to Friday)

2. Publicity and Fundraising Lead (Maternity Cover)

Do you have the creativity and drive to lead engaging publicity campaigns and impactful fundraising initiatives?  We are seeking a dynamic Publicity and Fundraising Lead to cover maternity leave and help drive our mission.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will play a vital role in increasing awareness of our work, engaging supporters and securing funding to sustain and develop services.  You will lead promotional activities, manager relationships with stakeholders and coordinate fundraising events like the annual Paws for a Cause walk and the Innocent Campaign's knitted hats initiative.

Driver with own vehicle is essential.

22.5 hours a week, over three or four days a week.

£28,660 pro rata (£17,428 actual)

Expected duration of contract July 2025 to July 2026.

3. Support at Home - Home Helpers (two vacancies, one in Wigan and one in Leigh)

As a Home Helper, you will provide regular visits to customers in their homes and be responsible for a wide range of household cleaning tasks, including laundry and ironing. You may also be involved in errands such as shopping, picking up prescriptions or undertaking a wellbeing visit.  This is more than just a cleaning job.

This is a hugely rewarding role as you will help older people to remain active, independent and linked to their local community.

The service operates between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday with no bank holiday, evening or weekend working.

16 hours a week, over three days.  There is the option of increasing working hours depending on the need in your location.

£12.21 per hour
