We provide various services and activities within the community, helping people, their families and carers by providing opportunities for people to stay independent, have fun, socialise and build friendships. About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our amazing team in Arun & Chichester as a Senior Community Developer. We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of older people, who has the skills to lead, develop and manage high-quality services & activities that benefit and interest the 50+ community.

As the Senior Community Developer, you will lead an experienced team, work collaboratively with colleagues, key stakeholders, local organisations and communities to deliver impactful services and activities for people aged 50+ in Arun and Chichester. Your role will be pivotal in promoting our organisation and building key relationships for the well-being of older adults, making later life fulfilling and enjoyable, and reducing social isolation and loneliness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote Well-being: Help people aged 50+ to lead fulfilling lives by providing services that enhance their well-being and helping them to stay independent.
  • Combat Loneliness: Develop initiatives, services or activities that help to reduce the barriers causing social isolation and loneliness, enabling people aged 50+ to flourish.
  • Build Resilience: Be part of an organisation that helps to increase the resilience and connectivity of people aged 50+, helping them feel more integrated into their local community.

About You:

  • Community Development Experience: You understand the importance of community development, social connections and genuine partnership working and collaboration.
  • Team Player: You thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy working as part of a team.
  • Solution Focused: You approach challenges with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Local Knowledge: You have a really good understanding of Arun & Chichester and the local third sector, enabling you to get off to a flying start!.
  • Self-Starter: You have excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills, enabling you to support, grow and develop the team.
