Salary:  £11,689 (£21,625 FTE)

Location: Hybrid (West Sussex, Brighton and Hove and/or Homeworking)

About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and thorough Finance Assistant to join our team and contribute to the efficient day-to-day operation of our finance function. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will play a crucial role in maintaining financial accuracy, compliance, and supporting the modernisation and digitalisation of our financial management systems.

This is a hybrid position and can be based from any of our centres (Bognor Regis, Haywards Heath, Horsham or Brighton), with the option to work from home on a regular basis. Home working maybe considered with occasional travel for meetings.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Accurate data input and analysis using accounting software.
  • Process transactions, resolve issues, and assist with payroll and expenses.
  • Support annual accounts preparation and administrative tasks.
  • Assist in grants, donations, and gift aid processing.
  • Aid in budget setting and monitoring.
  • Provide administrative support to the Head of Finance.
  • Support Budget Holders and other staff in using financial information, systems, and tools.
  • Assist the Head of Finance with filing reports and notices with Companies House and the Charity Commission.
  • Attend meetings, training, and actively promote the charity.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Enthusiastic and eager to learn.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of financial processes.
  • Ability to work well within a team.
