Location: Community based (with an office at Laburnum Centre, Bognor Regis)

About The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Older Persons Projects Lead to join our team in Arun & Chichester. You’ll work to develop and support great local services for older people living in the Arun & Chichester area. You’ll understand the local community of older people and make connections, build relationships and work together with other local groups and organisations that support older people too. By combining your knowledge of the local area with our expertise, you will create impactful initiatives that address the challenges faced by older people in Arun & Chichester. There’s a great team working in Arun & Chichester, and you’ll provide fantastic leadership for them.

Hybrid working is offered with a mixture of office, out in the community and homeworking and some flexibility over days worked can be considered.

What you will need to be successful in the role

  • You’ll need to be flexible, resilient and have a positive can-do attitude.
  • You’ll need an understanding of and interest in older people, their situations and the opportunities they may want and/or need.
  • You should be good at making connections, working together with others and building excellent relationships both internally and externally.
  • You need to be an experienced user of IT and be a confident writer.
  • You’ll have good community development skills or other relevant experience.
  • You should have a positive and professional attitude that's ready to take on challenges and changes. It's important to handle conflicts well too.
  • You’ll have experience of working or volunteering with older people.
  • Ideally, you’ll have a driver's licence, a car, and be okay with travelling (we'll pay for the mileage outside of your base).
  • Essentially, you should want to help older people be healthier, happier and better connected to where they live!
