Order your cream tea for home delivery and help us raise vital funds.
Age UK West Sussex, Brighton & Hove (WSBH) is delivering cream teas to people’s doorsteps to raise money for its Coronavirus appeal.
For a minimum donation of just £6.50 people can order the fundraising cream tea box, which includes two homemade scones, clotted cream, jam and sachets of tea and sugar, while helping the charity support older people at home during the pandemic.
Funds raised will go towards the charity’s doorstep grocery deliveries, emergency welfare and safety support for the most vulnerable and telephone befriending for older people feeling isolated.
Helen Rice, Chief Executive at Age UK WSBH said “Getting a cream tea delivered to a family member’s doorstep, your house or even your workplace is a lovely little treat and an easy way to support Age UK locally. Many older people have really suffered during lockdown and we transformed our services to be there for them, delivering food, medication and befriending to those who needed it the most. At the same time, our income has taken a huge hit. We came up with this cream tea idea to put a smile on faces during this difficult time and to help us fundraise. Please consider buying a box or two to show your support - lockdown may be easing but there are still so many people who need our help.”
Bidfood and Kendricks have sponsored the boxes, kindly providing items and allowing more of each donation to support the charity. The cream teas are available to residents across West Sussex, Brighton & Hove and the full contents are:
- 2x handmade classic plain scones
- 1x tub of Rodda's Cornish
- Clotted Cream (40g) 2x portions of Coronet
- Strawberry Jam (28g each)
- Birchall English Breakfast Tea
- Kendricks Sugar Sachet
- Napkin
