We are a data controller.  This means we are responsible for deciding how we hold and use personal information about you. This notice explains to you what decisions we have taken in relation to that information.

We are committed to transparency in our data practices. Regular audits and reporting ensure accountability, providing stakeholders with confidence in our data handling procedures.

All staff receive comprehensive training on data protection to ensure they understand their responsibilities and the importance of maintaining high data standards. Refresher courses keep everyone informed about the latest best practices and regulatory changes.

We have a robust risk management framework in place to identify, assess, and mitigate potential data-related risks. This includes regular risk assessments, data breach response plans, and continuous monitoring to prevent and address any issues promptly.

By integrating these additional practices and principles, we ensure that Age UK Westminster remains a trustworthy, professional, and responsible steward of data, reinforcing our commitment to excellence in serving our community.

As part of our commitment to confidentiality, we have appointed a Caldicott Guardian. This senior individual is responsible for safeguarding the privacy of people's health and care information. This ensures that all our interactions with local authorities providing social services within the NHS and patients adhere to your legal rights regarding confidentiality and privacy.
