Christmas Hampers Delivery Volunteer
Published on 23 November 2020 10:46 AM
Every year Age UK Westminster delivers over 400 prepared Christmas meals to vulnerable older residents in the City of Westminster. This massive operation would not be possible without the support of our dedicated volunteers who return year after year to support the Christmas Meals Project.
This year we are planning to deliver Christmas Hampers instead of meals to our clients and we need over 250 volunteers to assist with this massive operation. Delivery will take place in the week leading up to Christmas, from Monday 21st to Wednesday 23rd December.
We will have three different collection hubs: in Pimlico SW1 (opens on Monday21st December ), Paddington W2 (opens on Tuesday 22nd December) and Queens Park W10 (opens on Wednesday 23rd December) so volunteers can choose which hub is easiest for them to get to.
Many of our clients live in the same blocks of flats, which will make delivery quite straightforward whether in groups or individually. The hampers are quite small so each volunteer would be able to take up to 5 bags, if they choose. Deliveries can be done on foot, bicycle or by car. ( If delivering by car, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can make arrangement to waive congestion charges and parking fees)
Volunteers can register to help with deliveries on a one-off basis or throughout the week. Delivery could take any time up to 3 hours.
