The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee at Age UK Wandsworth

What a way to begin the month of June by celebrating the Queen's Platinum Jubilee in style! Afternoon tea, craft competitions and a stall at the Old York Road street party all proved a fitting tribute to the historic reign of her Majesty the Queen. 

Thank you to Wandsworth Council for our Jubilee grant which allowed us to send home afternoon tea with our service users who wouldn’t be able to get out to street parties over the weekend.

Thank you also to Floral Angels for the donation of so many beautiful flowers.  

Festivities at the Day Centre included a Union Jack colouring competition, a Find the Queen scavenger hunt, as well as themed quizzes and puzzles.  

On Sunday, our CEO and office dog Hector represented us at Wandsworth Town’s Old York Road Unplugged: Jubilee Edition street party. We ran a raffle as well as handing out leaflets about our services to prospective service users and volunteers alike.
