People's Postcode Lottery funds Digipals expansion

Thanks to support from players of the People's Postcode Lottery, we are able to expand Digipals - our programme of friendly computer support for older people in Wandsworth. 

In addition to funding the weekly sessions in four local libraries, the award will allow Digipals to expand into local sheltered accommodation settings and also start a weekly 'drop-in' session at our Age UK Wandsworth office.

Emma Chisholm, Age UK Wandsworth Community and Wellbeing lead, said: 

"We are so grateful to the players of the People's Postcode Lottery for this award, it will make a real difference in our efforts to reduce digital and social isolation in Wandsworth. The internet can be a great tool in helping older people stay independent but can also be a source of frustration and fear. The Digipals are able to offer friendly support with any digital device on any issue that is concerning them".

Digipals is staffed by volunteers from the community who help develop confidence using digital devices and the internet. For more information about the available sessions click here .
