Time for Tea Service of the month

From it's very shaky start within a month of the Pandemic hitting us in March 2020 our Time for Tea programme has gone from strength to strength. We are currently in 9 venues around the district including some Wetherspoon pubs where we offer our 'Spoons Socials on a slightly different model than the original Time for Tea. Same staff, same principles you just buy your own refreshment’s whilst joining us for a chat or to play some ever popular pub games such as dominoes or cards.
We are pleased to say that our events are well attended whilst remaining friendly and personal with all the support you can expect from Age UK Wakefield District. From the hustle and bustle of The Ridings events with entertainment at the Cuppa Club (2nd Thursday) and support from partners at the Time for Tea (4th Thursday) event there is something for everyone. By far the busiest, we have a regular attendance of 100+ so expect it to be busy. Held in the Event space outside of Marks and Spencer Food Hall we are easy to find just follow the chatter and the smell of the coffee and tea.
Our other events across the district are smaller in comparison but still welcoming and have more time to chat to you. We also have partners from across Wakefield that come along to support you in their own specialist fields, Turning Point Talking Therapies, Money Matters, West Yorkshire Fire and Police and other agencies. Our networks allow us to confidently refer to the correct agency to give you the support you require if it is outside our own services.
We were delighted that The National Lottery Community Fund agreed to fund us for a further three years as they saw the benefits to the local community even through challenging times with Covid and all its restrictions.
