Silver Sunday

We are delighted to be organising another Silver Sunday after the success of last year’s inaugural event.

Our partners at The Ridings Shopping Centre are kindly hosting the event again and we hope to attract as many people to the popular event as last year.

The Mayor of Wakefield will be opening the event at 10am, the Mayoral party will then visit the organisations and charities there to highlight the work they do for the older generation. Perhaps they could be encouraged to try out the new installation at The Ridings lower mall especially for Falls Prevention.

Our teams will be joined by partner organisations such as Alzheimer’s Society, Nova, WDH and Live well Wakefield, Carers Wakefield to name but a few.  Entertainment will be provided throughout the day in the middle mall with a chance to join in and sing along with Singing for the Brain.

We are working with traders throughout the centre to put on special deals and meals for the day and refreshments will be available on the lower mall from Age UK Wakefield District  Volunteers supported by Morrisons.

Following the success from last year, our grand finale will be a dance with  perhaps an even longer conga!
