Reception volunteer
As a Reception Volunteer you could be the first face people see.
What do reception volunteers do?
Our reception volunteers meet and greet all visitors to our Sharples Building in Urmston. They act as the first port of call for infomation on our services and activities and they direct visitors to the various services, make appointments for the solicitors rota, answer the telephone and provide signposting to external services. If an enquiry is more complex they will refer it to our informaton and Advice service or one of our other services as appropriate.
What you will get out of it
- It's a great way to make a real difference to someone's life
- You'll make new friends
- You'll be giving something to your community
- You get to be part of Age UK Trafford's volunteer team
- Volunteers tell us they find it really rewarding
What is expected of me?
Volunteers are expected to give a regular time slot each week to staff our reception desk. This usually involves a commitment of 9.30am-1pm for the morning slot or 1pm-4.30pm for the afternoon slot. Volunteers should also be prepared to help cover the desk when other volunteers are not available. Volunteers will also need to complete an application and provide references. Training is given on site.
