Winter Fuel Payment

A Winter Fuel Payment is an annual tax free payment made to households, to help with heating costs.

Cold Weather Payment

Extra payments are made when the weather is very cold in your area.If you are eligible, payments will be made when the average temperature has been, or is expected to be, 0°C or below for 7 consecutive days. The scheme operates every winter between 1 November and 31 March.

Would I qualify? You will be paid automatically if you are receiving Pension Credit, Income Support, Income based Jobseekers Allowance or Income Related Employment and Support Allowance.Contact your pension centre or Job Centre if you think you have qualified but not received a payment.

Free/subsidised insulation and Replacement of inefficient boilers

You may be eligible for financial assistance to help you insulate your house to make it warmer and more energy efficient and/or to replace an old, inefficient boiler.
