Age UK Torbay is delighted to have received a cheque for £158 after successful fundraising events held by Mount Tryon Care Home in Torquay.
Helen Harman, the Age UK Torbay CO said: “I would like to thank the staff at Mount Tryon for their time and generosity. They held two events, a garden party last summer and a raffle for Halloween, with proceeds being donated to Age UK Torbay.”
Helen continued: “Age UK Torbay is committed to helping older people enjoy later life in Torbay. The funds raised will go towards helping us tackle loneliness and isolation amongst older people in our community, via our befriending and careline services. We also hold various social events throughout the year which enable older people to get together, have fun, enjoy company and make friends. A cup of tea, a chat and laughter with a friendly face and a listening ear can make such a difference to older people.
