Age UK Teesside's new Carers Connect Service offers support to Carers who are in need of a break from their caring role. * Redcar and Cleveland Only

Carers Connect Services

A volunteer will have 1-2 hours contact time with the person you care for giving you access to a regular weekly break.
Available to people aged 50 and over living in the Redcar and Cleveland area.

Carers Connect Support Service

Carers Connect Support Service is maintained by Age UK staff and volunteers and provides ad hoc or low level support. It is intended to supplement, rather than replace, existing services offered by Health & social Care. This service is subject to assessed needs.

Examples are:
- Assistance with shopping and prescription collection
- Help to get to the shops for food, clothing etc
- Accompanying to GP, hospital, sight, hearing appointments etc
- Support to attend Age UK Teesside, encouraging social interaction and confidence building
- Welfare calls
