Christmas Festive Lunches

Christmas is about spending time with family and friends but around 6,000 older people spent Christmas Day alone last year in Teesside.

Last year our festive lunches were held at the Redcar Literary Institute, the Robert Atkinson Centre in Stockton, the Trinity Centre in Middlesbrough and St Matthew’s Community Centre in Hartlepool. Redcar, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough and Stockton residents, volunteers and staff got into the Christmas spirit with a buffet lunch, quizzes and a raffle.

It was fantastic to see older people who may have been alone for Christmas, coming together and enjoying an afternoon with new friends, food and fun.
