Befriending

People over the age of 65, who have little or no contact from family and friends and live alone in Stockton-on-Tees, Middlesbrough or Redcar and Cleveland, can access help which is available from Age UK Teesside.

The Age UK Teesside Befriending Services provides a range of support to individuals who struggle to access social groups on their own.

The scheme is free and a volunteer member from the network visits an older person in their home, has a friendly chat over a cup of tea, helps with daily tasks and even accompanies clients on short walks, outings or to local social groups.
