Welcome Paul Farmer New CEO of Age UK England

On Friday 18th November we welcomed Paul Farmer the new CEO of Age UK England (AUKE) to the charity, we have been a brand partner of AUKE since 2011 and were really excited to meet Paul and showcase the work we do across Tameside from our community centre base in Ashton-under Lyne.

We all had a fantastic day, Paul got the chance to sample a wonderful homecooked meal served in the 131 Club, as well as meeting and chatting with some Club customers. He was introduced to staff, got to see our great indoor and outdoor facilities and get a real understanding of the services we offer to older people . Last year we provided direct support to 3755 older peole and dealt with 1695 telephone and inperson enquiries.

Paul joined in with our weekly tai chi class led by Aamir the class instructor and Falls Prevention Coach and finally he met with the Charity Chair, Robert and long standing Trustee Rita to talk about how we can strengthen national and local relationships, and how Age UK can best support older people across the country through this current cost of living crisis.
