Our Shopmobility Service in Guildford is amazing - but don't just take our word for it!
They have been awarded The 2023 Tom Hillier Shopmobility of the Year Award.
The award is named after the founder of the national Shopmobility membership organisation. Customers are able to nominate Shopmobility members, highlighting how visits to a particular service stand out and what sets the service apart from the rest.
ShopMobility UK's awarding committee received numerous nominations this year from the 110 Shopmobility Centres registered with ShopMobility UK, with many lovely comments about the difference Shopmobility services make to people’s lives, as well as the staff and volunteer teams who do such great work in communities. The following extracts from nominations helped ShopMobility UK to justify Age UK Surrey's Shopmobility as this year’s winner:
“EVERYONE is so helpful and so kind when I visit. They are always caring when transferring me from wheelchair to car, skilfully and smoothly.”
“When I had problems with my own scooter one of the team helped to get the scooter moving again.”
“Brilliantly run by a group of really helpful, empathetic staff who make our experience on every visit an extremely positive one.”
“Every time I have used (the service) they have gone the extra mile to help. As someone who is young, I often feel self-conscious but they always put me at ease.
“I have been with (the service) since 1997 and I have always been treated extremely and totally with the highest respect. The staff over the years have always gone above their duties. The scooters are always in tip-top condition and extremely clean.”
“I always get service with a smile and we always have a laugh and a chat, which little do they realise helps me with my depression. I shall be forever indebted to them.”
“Over the years that I have been a regular user of the mobility scooters, I have found that they consistently go above and beyond what is required. They know their regular customers well and make me feel that I am a part of the "family".”
“They are super efficient and I have used many different shopmobility services but this is my absolute favourite!”
“Always willing to help, so friendly, your safety and comfort is of the highest order, nothing is too much trouble, they are brilliant every single one of the team.”
Congratulations to our amazing team at Shopmobility Guildford!
Caroline Downing and Jayne Seymour represented the team and attended the dinner and conference hosted by Driving Mobility on Wednesday 14th June and Thursday 15th June held at the Kings Norton Golf Club in Alverchurch Birmingham.
