Warm Homes Funding

We are delighted to have been awarded funding to help address fuel poverty and cold related ill health. The funding will enable us to help older people claim the benefits they are entitled to and to advise them about energy savings measures they can take to keep warm and well.

Many older people are living on a low state pension which is not adequate given the rising cost of living. Alongside this there are billions of pounds of benefits that go unclaimed every year, meaning that people are on a lower income than they should be. Pensioners can be disproportionally affected by cost-of-living increases compared to the rest of the population, for example their spending on energy and housing tends to be a greater portion of their income compared to those below pension age. Single pensioners are even harder hit than pensioner couples.
