The Essence Service is the dementia hub of the City and aims to support people in the early stages of dementia and their carer/s, across all areas of the City of Sunderland. Carers are also supported when their loved ones dementia progresses. The service is a dedicated social prescribing service for those with mild to moderate dementia and their carers.

Support offered

Person centred support and social prescribing for people in early stages of dementia (mild to moderate). We also equally support carers and family / friends.

Activities

We offer a range of formal and informal activities such as coffee mornings, arts and crafts, Curling, men's group and others at our centre based in Doxford Park.
