Volunteer of the Year 2024

Volunteer of the Year 2024

Age UK Sunderland is delighted to announce that the winner of Volunteer of the Year 2023 is Joyce Jude.

'Joyce is an asset to Age UK Sunderland because of her lovely kind personality. She brings a smile to everyone’s faces, clients, carers and staff, making everyone feel welcome and happy. Clients and carers look forward to seeing Joyce and so do we as staff. She works incredibly hard setting up for groups and all the thorough cleaning after the groups she does is very helpful and appreciated.

Joyce has been through the journey with her husband with dementia meaning she can relate to other carer’s and share her journey with them if they ask her for advice which they tend to do often. Joyce is caring, kind, warm hearted, helpful, a hard worker, and really does make a difference in others lives.

The clients love her different pinnys she wears each time she comes In and the way she works the trolley always has a smile on their faces '' Laura Carroll - Essence Support Worker
