Age UK Sunderland’s Metcalfe Dementia Support Service which is based in Hetton, has been celebrating their one-year anniversary and marked the occasion with various arts and craft activities, music and dancing with the clients.

Metcalfe Dementia Support Service has been crucial in providing tailored support and activities to help stimulate those living with a moderate diagnosis of dementia and also providing much needed respite support for carers. It also boasts a sensory garden for additional stimulation and enjoyment.

Tracy Collins, CEO  of Age UK Sunderland, commented, “We are delighted to see our Metcalfe Dementia Service flourish in its celebratory first year.  The service is a lifeline for those with moderate dementia and their carers ”.
