Our Essence Centre has been re-awarded the Gold Award by the Dementia Services Development Centre (DSDC) at the University of Stirling for dementia friendly design.

Our Metcalfe Centre has also excelled since opening a year ago, earning a Silver Award for its incredible contributions to supporting those living with dementia in terms of dementia friendly design.

The Essence Centre is the first day centre in the UK to receive the new The (EADDAT) Gold Award; and the Metcalfe Centre is the first day care centre in the UK to receive the new EADDAT Silver Award ✨

Age UK Sunderland is the only Charity in the Country to hold these awards!
