Happy Memories for Age UK Sunderland Pityard Group!!

We all cherish our happy memories and enjoy talking about them with others. Casting our mind back to times gone by and being nostalgic about happy experiences in our lifetime brings people together. Members of Age UK Sunderland Pityard group do just that when they meet at the Beacon of Light each Thursday. As many members worked down the pit or in the shipyards conversation often goes back to those times and the recent 30 year anniversary of the closure of Wearmouth Colliery prompted many memories and conversations. To mark this event some members of the group were invited onto the pitch during half time at the Stadium of Light where they shared some of these memories. The group are pictured with former SAFC players Nick Pickering and Jimmy Montgomery.
