Volunteer Required for Friday Friends Group

We are looking for a volunteer to lead and co-ordinate our weekly Friday Friends group.
You will identify engaging topics for discussion, create quizzes and arrange for speakers to deliver presentations on topical issues of interest to the group. Setting up the room and necessary equipment, e.g. screen, projector if required.
Visits to places of interest could also be arranged and you will need to carry out risk assessments for the visit.
You will pass on to the group any relevant Age UK Sunderland (AUKS) information that is appropriate and/or mandatory to ensure the safety of all AUKS clients and regularly liaise with the ActivAge Manager regarding the group’s requirements and meeting dates.
All attendees are required to complete a registration form and a weekly register of attendance is needed and the appropriate attendance fees should be collected.
Volunteers should be sociable and be able to display leadership skills. You should also be prepared to make a long-term commitment.
The group meets each Friday morning from 10am till noon and it is expected that you will be prepared to commit approximately 3 to 4 hours each week.
References and an Enhanced DBS are required for this role.
Appropriate training will be available.
