Free Wills Month

What is Free Wills Month?
Free Wills Month allows national charities, including Age UK, the chance to offer their supporters aged 55 and over the opportunity to have a simple will written or updated free of charge by a participating solicitor.
An up-to-date will, written by a solicitor, is the best way to ensure your wishes are followed. Your will is a reflection of your life and your wishes and it allows you to provide for your family and friends and leave a gift to your chosen charities too.
By being part of this campaign we hope you'll consider supporting Age UK with a gift in your will, although there is no obligation to do so.
Where is the campaign taking place?
The October 2020 campaign Age UK is part of has solicitors in following locations:
Bournemouth, Birmingham, Bolton, Chester, Cumbria, Derbyshire, East Cheshire, Hampshire, Huddersfield, Hull, Ipswich, Lancaster, Leeds, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Manchester, Milton Keynes, North Wales , Norwich, Northern Ireland, Nottinghamshire, Portsmouth, Preston, Scarborough, Shropshire, Southampton, Stockport, Stoke-On-Trent, Wakefield.
How do I take part?
Free Wills Month is intended for individuals or couples aged 55 and over. If you're making your will as a couple, only one of you needs to be over 55.
- Visit the Free Wills Month website if you live near one of the locations listed above.
-
Type in your postcode to find out which solicitors are taking part in the campaign in your local area.
- Book an appointment directly with the solicitor during the campaign month.
- Consider including a gift to help older people most in need. Find out more about supporting the work of Age UK Stockport with a gift in your will.
It's worth noting that the numbers of appointments are limited, so we recommend you book your appointment with your chosen solicitor as soon as you can. Once all available appointments are booked the campaign will close – this may be before the end of the month.
This campaign pays for simple wills. If the will is more complex and needs additional work, the solicitor may ask you to pay the balance yourself. It's best to check this when booking your appointment.
