Changes to Trustees and Senior Management Team at Age UK Staffordshire

A number of changes have been made to the Board of Trustees and Senior Management Team at local charity Age UK Staffordshire.
Six new Trustees are joining the six existing Trustees, taking the charity's board up to 12 members.
Sandra Daniels – Has 30+ years experience within the health & social care sector.
Greg Richards – We welcome back Greg, who left us as a trustee in 2017, Greg works in the digital sector within local government.
Ben Odams – Local government background focused on public policy, strategic planning & stakeholder engagement.
Jackie Wellings – a former CEO of Age UK Wolverhampton with a wealth of operational experience in the Age UK universe.
Liz Learoyd – currently CEO of a health & social care community interest company delivering healthwatch contracts, advocacy hubs and a social research facility.
Neil Davies – a background in business and currently a practice manager in a large GP practice.
The Board of Trustees will continue to be led by Stuart Clapham as the Chair of the Trustees.
David Hole, Interim CEO at Age UK Staffordshire, said: 'We welcome our new Trustees to the charity, giving us much needed strength, depth of knowledge & influence with the ability to share the responsibilities more widely.
'All 12 Trustees have a wealth of experience to bring to the charity to engage with the staff and clients, to help the older people in Staffordshire. It is one of many foundations to secure the sustainability of Age UK Staffordshire.'
In addition to new Trustees, the charity is undergoing changes within the senior management team.
Interim CEO, David Hole, will be leaving the charity on 27 August 2021.
David said: 'I have thoroughly enjoyed working with everyone at Age UK Staffordshire. Thank you for your dedication and commitment, you are all very focused on the client but also on each other.
'I look forward to my next adventure and wish the team and clients all the very best.'
Age UK Staffordshire will welcome new CEO, Carl Bennett, from 1 September 2021.
Carl’s career spans Leisure & Recreation / Sports Management, Public Health, Health Promotion, the Charitable Sector and Community Development roles. Carl has a well-rounded track record in supporting voluntary organisations. He is an Honorary Visiting Fellow at Staffordshire University. Carl has worked in the NHS and the Local Authority context for over 30 years and spent 3 years working within the professional football world at Stoke City for the Community Trust.
New Head of Finance appointed at Age UK Staffordshire
As part of the changes to the Senior Management Team, Richard Walker has been appointed as the charity's Head of Finance.
Richard has worked as an accountant with over 25 years’ experience in the charity sector, working for charities ranging from elderly care, the church and outdoor education and cycling.
