“To help make later life a fulfilling and enjoyable experience and to promote the health and wellbeing of all older people”

Our Vision and Values

We believe that community wellbeing services which help prevent or delay deterioration in people’s health and wellbeing are essential, particularly with people living longer in our country.

Age UK SKC wants to support those older people within our community, who need assistance, in the way they want it to happen.

We will strive for older people to:

  • Be treated as equal citizens with equal rights
  • Have access to the health and social care they need.
  • Have active opportunities to participate and contribute as volunteers, good citizens, good neighbours, family members and workers.
  • Live in accommodation that is safe and comfortable and which enable them to lead fulfilling lives.

Our values underpin all that we do and our desire to highlight all that is positive about age:

  • Respect – listening to older people and treating them as individuals that are part of our charity; with courtesy, sensitivity and understanding whilst valuing the wisdom that comes from their life experience.
  • Enabling – our volunteers, employees and partners in all our relationships with older people, their family and carers.
  • Accountability – ensuring transparency and providing value for money.
  • Valuing Diversity – a total commitment to the principle of equal opportunities
  • Professionalism – maintaining confidentiality and high standards expected of Age UK SKC.
