Our person-centred and specialised activities programme offers a two-course lunch and accessible transport for older people at venues across South Gloucestershire.
What does the service offer?
This service aims to offer participants a varied and stimulating day in a safe setting away from home. Which includes:
- A two-course lunch;
- Refreshments provided throughout the day;
- A range of activity options delivered by our specialist team.
What does a typical day involve?
A typical day contains opportunities for a variety of activities such as, but not limited to:
- Singing workshops;
- Tai-Chi;
- Quizzes;
- Exercises;
- Arts & crafts;
- Nintendo Wii games;
- Knitting;
- Memory boxes
Our Activity Day Centres also deliver varied entertainment as well as times of quiet conversation and one-to-one support. Our fully trained team are also able to adjust existing activities to cater for individual needs and aspirations.

Is there a cost for this service?
Yes, this is a chargeable service. However, we can help you determine whether you would be eligible for financial support from South Gloucestershire Council to access our Activity Day Centres. (Please see below for contact details to find out more.)
Our Information and Advice team is also available to carry out a welfare benefits assessment to ensure you receive all the financial support you are entitled to.
We will be happy to discuss attending a 'taster session' to experience the service, meet our team and other service users. In addition, half-day packages can also be discussed but are subject to availability.

Anyone aged 50+ who would benefit from the service.
Where are the Day Centres located?
We currently have three centres which run 9:30 am until 3:30 pm in:
Filton – Tuesday
Downend – Wednesday
Warmley – Thursday
Thornbury – Friday
Can the Activity Day Centres accommodate people with dementia?
Yes, we can accommodate people with or without a dementia diagnosis. All our staff are trained 'Dementia Friends' and DBS checked at an enhanced level.
