Walking Groups Information

Yate Group
When: Mondays, 9.30am to 11am
Where: Cambrian Green Court, Wellington Road, Yate, BS37 5AD
What: Meet in the foyer at Cambrian Green at 9.30am and walk a variety of routes around nearby parks and green spaces. We return to Cambrian Green for a drink and social time. Those who are not Cambrian Green residents are also welcome to join us for this walk. The routes are between 0.5 and 0.7 miles.
Thornbury Group
When: Mondays, 1.45pm to 3.45pm
Where: Age UK office, Thornbury High Street, BS35 2AW
What: The walk begins at the Age UK office and walks down Thornbury high street, collecting the walkers from the various start points on the way. The group walks to Alexandra Lodge and then returns up the high street to The Swan to have a coffee. Walkers can then make their own way home from The Swan or return via the same route with the walk leader. The start point for each person is agreed with them depending on how far they would like to walk. The full route is approximately 0.5 miles.
Filton Group
When: Tuesdays, 11am to 12.30pm
Where: Concorde Lodge, Southmead Road, BS34 7DR
What: Meet outside Concorde Lodge at 11am and walk along the pavement to the nearby Community Garden. We often stop here for a rest on a bench and we then continue through Elm Park to FACE Filton where we stop for a coffee and some social time. We continue back to Concorde Lodge to finish the walk. This route is just under 1 mile.
Staple Hill Group
When: Wednesdays, 10.45am to 12.15pm
Where: Page Park Clocktower
What: Meet at the clocktower in Page Park and walk one lap around the park. Those who would like to walk one lap can then enter the café and have a drink whilst those who would like to walk a second lap can do so. Both groups are accompanied by a team member. The second group then join the others in the café for a drink. Walkers make their own way home. One lap is approximately 0.5 miles and two laps is approximately 1 mile.
Longwell Green Group:
When: Wednesdays, 1.30pm to 3pm
Where: The Chapel Coffee Shop, Bath Road, Longwell Green, BS30 9DD
What: Meet outside the Chapel Coffee Shop and walk along the high street and surrounding footpaths. There is the option to complete a shorter route, joining the group at Ferndale Avenue. Finish at the Chapel Coffee Shop for a drink and social time and the walkers make their own way home. The full route is just over 0.5 miles and the shorter route is approximately 0.2 miles.
