Take the leap and raise funds

We are looking for daredevils to take to the skies and complete a skydive on Saturday 4 May.
You can sign up individually or see if you can get a group of friends or colleagues together.
The skydive is free of charge to participants, as long as you raise a minimum of £500 each for Age UK Solihull. Full training is provided on the day, and you will be attached to an experienced instructor. Other dates are available if you’re interested in doing a jump but can’t make 4 May.
Already signed up to take the leap at Hinton Airfield in Northamptonshire is Erin Twigger (right), who has volunteered for another local Age UK as a Telephone Friendship Befriender for two years, before moving to the Midlands where Age UK Solihull is now her closest Age UK.
Erin says, “Volunteering as a Telephone Befriender has helped me to understand the struggles with loneliness, isolation and other issues so many older people face. I wanted to support older people in my local community which is why I signed up to skydive in aid of Age UK Solihull. I’m nervous about the jump but also really excited! I’m hoping to exceed my target of £600 so the funds I raise can help as many older people as possible.”
Rebecca Jacob, Fundraising Manager at Age UK Solihull, said, “This is a fantastic opportunity to tick an amazing experience off your bucket list in 2024, while helping a local charity. I did a skydive myself five years ago, so I know what a daunting but incredible experience it is. All the funds raised will help us to support older people here in the Solihull borough, so it is a wonderful thing to do. Best of luck to Erin and anyone else who joins her on the day!”
If you are interested in taking part in a tandem jump in aid of Age UK Solihull on 4 May or any other date, you can find out more here.
