Solihull’s symphonic wind band, known as AD Concert Band, will present their Autumn concert on Saturday 21 September.

Taking place from 3.00pm at the newly-refurbished St Philps Church on Manor Road, Dorridge, the concert will feature a variety of music with the theme “A Journey Through Time”.

The music will cover multiple genres and is expected to include such pieces as 'Dr Who' TV theme, 'The Eighties' pop medley, 'As Time Goes By' from Casablanca, 'Pastime and Good Company', film music from 'Chocolat' and 'Somewhere in Time' plus much more.

Profits from the concert will be donated to Age UK Solihull, which is an independent, local charity that provides advice, support and friendship for older Solihull residents. The funds raised will stay in Solihull to help residents of the borough.

Steve Marlow from AD Concert Band says, “We are looking forward to holding our Autumn concert in the beautiful St Philip’s Church, which has excellent acoustics and facilities. We are pleased to be raising funds for Age UK Solihull, to help them to provide their vital services to local older people.”

Rebecca Jacob, Fundraising Manager at Age UK Solihull, says, “Thank you to AD Concert Band for raising funds for us with their concert, A Journey Through Time. It promises to be an entertaining afternoon, and the funds raised will help to make a big difference to older people in Solihull who need us.”

Adult tickets will be £8 in advance or £10 on the door, with admission free for under 18s.
