Digital Training at Eastcote Park

Age UK Solihull has recently been collaborating with Eastcote Park Retirement Village to offer residents and local over 50's FREE IT courses.
Our Digital Champion Project is a service that supports older Solihull residents who need help staying in touch with their family, shopping online, searching for local services or simply surfing the internet.
A group of volunteers has been running the course for 7 weeks at the retirement village with the full backing of Eastcote staff, who have offered their hospitality and use of the wonderful facilities that Eastcote has to offer.
Many of the clients that attended the sessions were surprised by how the former garden centre had so much to offer, having 34 deluxe apartments and 50 spacious and comfortable ensuite bedrooms, luxury lounges and private dining rooms, a stylish café bar, cinema, and a professional hair and beauty salon.
Debra Wyatt, Resident Services Advisor at Eastcote Park, says, “We were delighted to be able to host the event here at Eastcote Retirement Village. It has proved to be very beneficial for our apartment owners and has been great to meet residents from the local area. We are always happy to open our doors to local people. They can come and share a free coffee and cake with us every Friday at 11:00 to meet new people and be part of our community.”
There are plans to run more digital skills courses throughout the Spring and Summer. Whether you are a complete beginner or want to brush up on your skills, if you are over 50 and interested in attending, please get in touch with Emma or Ashlee on 0121 704 7851 to register.
